GRAPEVINE, TEXAS (October 15, 2015) - Salute military veterans at the Veterans Day Parade, Saturday, November 7 at 10 a.m. in Historic Downtown Grapevine. Grapevine invites veterans and citizens alike to come out and experience this meaningful day for our country's military servicemen and women. See a variety of veteran groups displaying their patriotism, as well many of Grapevine's civic and service groups showing their support for our nation's veterans. This year's parade will highlight the 50th anniversary of the start of the Vietnam War.
"The Grapevine Veterans Day Parade Committee has organized an event that will be fun for all ages and will honor those who have served our country so valiantly," said Army Lt. Col. Brian Michel, parade committee member. "We want to encourage others in the community to share in the appreciation of our veteran's at this very special event."
The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at Main and Hudgins Streets and will travel north along Main Street. The route will turn east on East Wall Street, where the parade will end at East Wall and Jenkins Streets. Free parking will be available throughout Historic Downtown Grapevine. Special photo opportunities will be available throughout the event.
Also taking place on Saturday, November 7 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. will be the Veterans Fair, hosted by Congressman Kenny Marchant. The event will take place in Liberty Park and will feature veteran benefits information, veteran organizations, live music, food, activities, a military vehicle show and much more. Veterans Day is an official United States federal holiday that is observed annually on November 11, honoring those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. The Grapevine Veterans Day Parade takes place to celebrate and salute our nation's veterans.
