GRAPEVINE, TEXAS (March 5, 2018) – On Wednesday, March 7, at 10 a.m., Grapevine Mayor William D. Tate and the Grapevine City Council, along with representatives from TEXRail, Coury Hospitality, Manhattan Construction, Architexas and other City of Grapevine stakeholders will break ground on “GRAPEVINE MAIN,” a $105 million dollar public/private sector transit-oriented development project. GRAPEVINE MAIN, located at the intersection of Main Street and Dallas Road in Historic Downtown Grapevine, will consist of a 38,000 square-foot expansive outdoor Plaza, a 42,000 square-foot, five-story Rail Station; and Hotel Vin, a six-story, 121-room boutique hotel, all supported by a 552-space Parking Garage.
Projected to commence service in December 2018, TEXRail, a 27-mile commuter line, will connect Grapevine to both the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport and downtown Fort Worth. GRAPEVINE MAIN will be located adjacent to the new TEXRail platform in the Cotton Belt Railroad District. DFW International Airport passengers will easily connect to TEXRail at Terminal B via SkyLink and be in Grapevine’s dining and entertainment district within six minutes.
“This new chapter in Grapevine’s story will be an exciting time to watch history happen before your eyes. GRAPEVINE MAIN is an incubator for the tremendous growth Grapevine is set to experience in the coming years,” said Grapevine Mayor William D. Tate.
The Rail Station will feature architecture reminiscent of 19th century grand rail stations of America and will contain modern amenities, market, entertainment and food hall experiences, meeting space, offices and community event space. When guests enter the Great Hall in the Rail Station, they will be greeted by majestic 40-foot ceilings. The Great Hall will also feature the Market Hall, with a unique combination of shops, dining and beverage options.
As guests venture into the luxurious Hotel Vin, a Marriott Collection Autograph Hotel, they enter the Grand Lobby, a one-of-a-kind hotel experience. To the north side of the Grand Lobby, guests will see floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking the bustling transportation center for TEXRail, the Grapevine Vintage Railroad and the Grapevine Visitors Shuttle. While dining or socializing in the Grand Lobby of the Hotel Vin, guests experience the excitement of the hustle and bustle of this transportation center. The Hotel Vin will be owned and operated by Coury Hospitality under the Autograph Collection by Marriott.
The 38,000 square-foot expansive outdoor Plaza will be large enough to accommodate 3,500 guests, yet intimate enough to lose yourself in the feeling and romance of all that is Grapevine. The Plaza will include a large water feature, public art displays, and entertainment amidst beautiful landscaping, all combining to create magical moments in the heart Historic Grapevine. All of these elements will be supported by a 552-space parking garage with valet service and Tesla-sponsored charging stations.
“Grapevine is focused on new developments that align with our city’s values and are true to our vision. TEXRail and GRAPEVINE MAIN are a unique opportunity to embrace our railroad past and blend it perfectly with modern, upscale amenities and the future needs of citizens and visitors alike,” said Bruno Rumbelow, Grapevine City Manager.
Coury Hospitality will also manage the Great Hall, the retail and restaurants all located within the Rail Station. The Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau will operate the Visitors Information Center, the Observation Tower and the expansive outdoor Plaza.
