GRAPEVINE, TEXAS (March 13, 2019) – Big time adventure arrives April 5, 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14 when the Day Out With Thomas: The Steam Team Tour 2019, presented by Mattel, pulls into Grapevine Vintage Railroad’s Cotton Belt Depot, 705 S. Main St.
This fun-filled event offers children and families the opportunity to take a ride with Thomas the Tank Engine™, star of the popular Thomas & Friends™ series on Nick Jr®. Little engineers are invited to take an approximately 25-minute ride on their favorite engine, meet Sir Topham Hatt®, Controller of the Railway, enjoy arts and crafts, train play tables, Sensory Stations, petting zoo, storytelling, live music, Sandbox FunDig! and more Thomas-themed activities. New for 2019: The newest member of the Steam Team, Nia, will be available for children to meet. In the form of a ten-foot inflatable, families will have the perfect photo op. The Dallas Puppet Theater will be performing inside Imagination Station and Wildlife On The Move will bring animal science to life. The tour, now in its 24th year, will make 37 stops across the U.S. and Canada and is expected to welcome nearly one million passengers in 2019.
It’s been more than 70 years since Thomas the Tank Engine left the depot, and he’s been chugging his way into the hearts of children and grownups worldwide, with his Island of Sodor friends by his side. Based on The Railway Series of classic stories, Thomas & Friends inspires the imagination while teaching the life lessons of friendship, exploration and cooperation. Day Out with Thomas: The Steam Team Tour is hosted by the Museum of the American Railroad and the Grapevine Vintage Railroad, and is presented by Mattel.

Time: Trains depart every hour beginning at 10:15 a.m. on Fridays and 9:15 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The last train departs at 2:15 p.m. on Fridays and 6:15 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Where: Grapevine Vintage Railroad, 705 S. Main St., Grapevine
Tickets: Tickets are on sale now and are $25 per person (taxes not included). Tickets are required for everyone ages 24 months and up. Passengers under 24 months are not required to have a ticket but must ride on an adult’s lap. Advanced purchase is highly recommended due to the popularity of this event.
