CELEBRATE WINE & FINE ART AT 27th ANNUAL NEW VINTAGE WINE AND GALLERY TRAIL & BLESSING OF THE VINES

GRAPEVINE, TEXAS (March 14, 2019) Grapevine’s 27th Annual New Vintage Wine and Gallery Trail & Blessing of the Vines will take place on Saturday, April 13, celebrating the arrival of this year’s new vintage wines and fine art. With tradition and flair, sip newly released wines, take in beautiful works of art and savor good times with friends in Grapevine.

Start the day at the Town Square Gazebo, 325 S. Main St., for the Blessing of the Vines. Guests will experience a centuries-old European blessing of Texas-grown vines, performed by Father Sojan George, asking for good weather and a bountiful Texas harvest. After the blessing, enjoy live entertainment and a complimentary wine tasting with cheese and bread. Guests will receive their very own dormant, nursery-grown Champanel grape vine sprig (one per family/limited quantities available) to take home. The Blessing of the Vines event begins at 10 a.m. and is free for all ages.

From 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., the celebration continues on the New Vintage Wine & Gallery Trail. Enjoy tasting different wine varietals and finding your new favorite from participating winery tasting rooms, including Bingham Family Vineyards, 620 S. Main St.; Cross Timbers Winery, 805 N. Main St.; Delaney Vineyards, 2000 Champagne Blvd.; Grape Vine Springs Winery, 409 S. Main St.; Homestead Winery, 211 E. Worth St.; Messina Hof Grapevine Winery, 201 S. Main St.; Sloan & Williams Winery, 401 S. Main St.; Umbra Winery, 415 S. Main St. and Wine Fusion Winery, 603 S. Main St.   

New Vintage Wine and Gallery Trail passports are $45 per person and include a souvenir wine glass, three (3) one-ounce (1 oz.) wine tastings and one food sample at each of the participating winery tasting rooms. Pre-purchased Trail passports can be picked up at Will Call located at the Town Square Gazebo. Trail passports will be available on the day of the event from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Town Square Gazebo. Advance purchase is recommended. Participants must be at least 21 years of age or older.

As you stroll along Grapevine’s Historic Main Street, admire beautiful bronze works of art along the Public Art Trail, featuring more than a dozen pieces, and pop into galleries and fine art working studios throughout the city. The Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District (GCISD) will hold their Annual Visual Arts Exhibition, featuring top selected works of art from students ranging from kindergarten through 12th grades, in the Tower Gallery. Additional galleries include: A Touch of Paris Art Gallery, 202 W. Wall St.; Giddens Gallery of Fine Art, 624 S. Main St.; Grand Gallery and Tower Gallery, 636 S. Main St.; Great American West Gallery, 332 S. Main St.; Holder Dane Art Gallery & Studios, 701 S. Main St.; Grapevine Foundry and Fine Arts, 701 S. Main St.; Palace Arts Center, 300 S. Main St.; and Vetro Glassblowing Studio, 701 S. Main St.

Register for the Designated Driver Program. Guests who register receive complimentary food and water at each winery tasting room visited on April 13. In addition, those who register will be entered into a drawing for a gift basket filled with gifts from Grapevine merchants. Designated drivers must register at the Town Square Gazebo on April 13. The drawing will take place on Monday, April 15 and the winner will be notified by email and/or phone.
