GRAPEVINE, TEXAS (March 26, 2021) - Get outside in Historic Downtown Grapevine to celebrate spring and new beginnings at the 29th Annual New Vintage Wine and Gallery Trail & Blessing of the Vines, presented by Park Place Dealerships, Saturday, April 10. Stroll down Historic Main Street from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and enjoy wine tastings, a public art trail and artwork by featured artists at Grapevine’s galleries and working artist studios. This year, the centuries-old European tradition of blessing the vines, to ensure a bountiful harvest, starts at 2 p.m. at the newly- opened Peace Plaza at Grapevine Main Station (815 S. Main St) and a limited number of complimentary Blanc du Bois grape vine sprigs will be available, courtesy of Womack Nursery.
The New Vintage Wine and Gallery Trail begins with Passport pick up between 10 a.m. to 4p.m. at Peace Plaza at Grapevine Main Station (815 S. Main St.). Passports are $45 per person in advance and $50 per person the day of the event and include a souvenir wine glass, three (3) 1-ounce wine tastings and one food sample at each participating location. Advance purchase is recommended. Wine Trail participants must be ages 21+.
Feelin’ Lucky?
Visit Park Place Lexus Grapevine or Park Place Jaguar Land Rover DFW and guess the number of corks in a vase for your chance to win a pair of Passports. The deadline to enter is Wednesday, March 31.
The Wine Experience
New Vintage Wine and Gallery Trail travelers will enjoy wines to suit every palate. Participating wineries include Bingham Family Vineyards (620 S. Main St.); Bull Lion Winery (530 S. Main St.); Cross Timbers Winery (805 N. Main St.); Grape Vine Springs Winery (409 S. Main St); Landon Winery (415 S. Main St.); Messina Hof Grapevine Winery (201 S. Main St.) and Sloan & Williams Winery (401 S. Main St.). Masks are required inside the tasting rooms when not seated.
New this year is “Bubbles & Beyond,” featuring sparkling, sweet and dessert wines from Grapevine’s winery tasting rooms. This element will take place on Peace Plaza at Grapevine Main Station and offerings will be available by-the- glass for purchase. This is not included with the New Vintage Wine and Gallery Trail Passport.
Yum Trail for Designated Drivers
Not drinking wine but would like to explore Grapevine with family and friends? Sign up for the Yum Trail designated driver program. Yum Trail participants will receive complimentary treats and non-alcoholic beverages at several locations along Main Street, as well as a chance to win a Grapevine-centric gift basket. Basket drawing will be held on Monday, April 12. Yum Trail registration is located at Peace Plaza at Grapevine Main Station the day of the event. Yum Trail participants must be at least 18 years of age.
Art Contest & Featured Artists
While sipping and strolling along Grapevine’s Historic Main Street, take selfies with the dozen bronze statues on the Public Art Trail for a shot at winning an art-inspired prize. To be eligible, post on Instagram using the hashtags #GrapevineTX and #ParkPlaceCares, and tag @VisitGrapevine. Public Art Trail map will be available online the day of the event. Deadline to post is 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, April 10.
Additionally, visit art galleries and working artist studios throughout the city to see works by this year’s featured artists, which include watercolorist Naomi Brotherton at Giddens Gallery of Fine Art (624 S. Main St.); oil painters Donna Palmershiem and Ann Hardy as well as sculptor Mark Hyde at Holder Dane Gallery & Art Studios (701 S. Main St.), glass artist David Gappa at Vetro Glassblowing Studio (701 S. Main St.) and Linda Lewis at Grapevine Foundry (701 S. Main St.). Other participating galleries include A Touch of Paris Art Gallery (202 W. Wall St.) and Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau Grand and Tower Galleries (636 S. Main St.).
Parking/Rideshare
Parking at the Grapevine Main Parking Garage is free for the first 90 minutes, $1 per every additional hour. Free parking is also available at the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau, Cotton Belt Railroad Historic District and throughout Historic Grapevine. For Uber and Lyft drop-off and pick up, go to the Cotton Belt Railroad Historic District (705 S. Main St.).
