Bubbles and Baubles – a one-carat diamond hiding in one lucky glass at GrapeFest’s Vintners’ Auction – coming to Palace Arts Center on September 16th
GRAPEVINE, Texas – August, 2011 - An infusion of creativity has been poured into the 2011 Vintners' Auction Classic. Welcomed back to the Palace Arts Center as part of Grapevine’s 25th Anniversary GrapeFest, the Vintners' Auction Classic, Friday, September 16 at 6:30 p.m., benefits the Texas Wine & Grape Growers Association and the Grapevine Heritage Foundation, and this year the event puts a new twist on an old classic.
Vintners’ Auction attendees will enjoy the traditional opportunity to bid on hotel packages, wine dinners, vineyard tours and trips to exciting destinations such as Australia during live and silent auctions at the Palace Arts Center venue located at 300 S. Main St. in Grapevine.
The new twist on this classic event is the all new Bubbles & Baubles. 100 glasses of champagne will be sold for $50 each. Each glass is a souvenir flute. These etched keepsakes will each hold a one carat sparkling gem. The gems can be authenticated at Bermuda Gold & Silver at
404 S. Main St. in Grapevine. Only one will be a genuine one carat diamond.
Vintners’ Auction tickets are $20 online in advance. After Wednesday Sept. 14, tickets can be purchased at the door for $25. Tickets can be purchased online at www.GrapevineTexasUSA.com/GrapeFest.

About Bermuda Gold & Silver: This jewelry store, located at the corner of South Main Street and Worth Street in Historic Downtown Grapevine, has been in business for 28 years. Owners Mike and Debi Meek have been in this location since 1998, and Debi has worked at Bermuda Gold & Silver since 1992. The building, built in 1900, has played a role in Grapevine’s history. Originally the building was the Grapevine National Bank and later became the Grapevine Home Bank. In 1932, two friends of Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker held up the bank at gunpoint and locked the bank officials in the vault. Grapevine residents, including Gordon Tate, father of current mayor William D. Tate, caught the robbers with the money the same day. Grapevine Home Bank closed in 1933. Bermuda Gold & Silver is at 404 S. Main St.
