SAVOR THE FLAVOR OF FUN AT GRAPEVINE'S 29TH ANNUAL MAIN STREET DAYS - MAY 17, 18 AND 19
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS (April 5, 2013) - Savor the flavor of fun at Grapevine's 29th Annual Main Street Days May 17, 18 and 19! Festival guests will enjoy three fun-filled, family-friendly days featuring a variety of activities, live entertainment, food, beverages and more for all ages.


Delight in the varieties of premium Texas and International wines, craft beers and festival foods. Taste a slice of delicious pizza or enjoy a whole pie from one of Grapevine's pizza purveyors along the Pizza Piazza. Hear live music on five stages throughout the three day festival. Cheer the masters of the grill at the Grillin' Competition at the Town Square Gazebo. Watch your kids experience the thrilling KidCave, a brand new kid-friendly entertainment zone, featuring the LEGOLAND® Discovery Center's Junior Builder Competition and the SEA LIFE Grapevine Aquarium touch pool. Take a turn at the games and on the carnival rides along the Carnival Midway. All this fun and more await you at the 29th Annual Main Street Days in Grapevine!


Looking for a spot to sample the fruit of the vine or are you more of a brewmaster? Throughout the festival, you'll delight at the Texas and International wines or Main Street Brews, the craft beer tasting tent where participants receive a souvenir pilsner glass with their tasting. Tickets for Main Street Brews are $11 in advance or $13.50 at the festival. To go with those spectacular beverages, pick your preferred pizza along the Pizza Piazza, where you can select your favorite offerings from pepperoni to peppers and more from a variety of Grapevine restaurants. Don't miss the traditional festival foods including turkey legs, funnel cakes, corn dogs, crepes, lemonade and more.


Dance the night away with live music on five stages throughout Main Street Days! Starting on Friday, a variety of bands including Gary P. Nunn and True Believers, both from Austin; Derryl Perry from Nashville, TN; Dwayne Dopsie and the Zydeco Band from Kenner, LA; Ric Monaco from Orlando, FL and more. The five stages are the Main Stage, located at E. Franklin and Main Streets; the Bud Light Stage in the Cotton Belt Railroad District; the Pizza Piazza Stage in Liberty Park; the Palace Theatre Stage and the new KidCave Stage at Worth and Jenkins Streets.

Pick up some cooking tips from the masters of the barbeque at the Main Street Days Grillin' Competition. Sessions are held throughout the three day festival with the championship session on Sunday. Teams will grill a variety of meats and even pizza in the quest to become the Main Street Days Grillin' Champion. See your children enjoy the thrill of fun at the brand new KidCave presented by Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine. This year's activities include the brand new KidCave stage, featuring a family-friendly game show, a SEA LIFE Grapevine Aquarium touch pool, LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Junior Builder Competition, DairyMax dairy educational experience, games with Kid's Celebrations and more. And, back for the 2013, more pizza fun for the kids! Parents, bring your children to the enhanced Roma's Pizza Toss Academy, located at Main and Wall Streets. One of the most popular kid's activities when it debuted in 2012, the Roma's Pizza Toss Academy teaches little chefs ages 10 and under how to toss dough like a pizza pro! Sessions are held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Times vary and space is limited, so get there early.
Win a prize at the games or take a spin on the rides along the Carnival Midway. Unlimited carnival ride passes will be available for $25 in advance or $30 at the festival on Friday from 5 p.m. - 10 p.m. The Carnival Midway is located at the corner of Main and Wall Streets.


Attention shoppers! Main Street Days features a unique lineup of specialty vendors at this year's event. Looking for unique crafts or jewelry? What about something cool for your home? How about great gift ideas for graduates or newlyweds? Shop to your heart's content at Main Street Days. Along with the exciting Main Street Days vendors, all the shops, art galleries, restaurants, winery tasting rooms and jewelry stores located along Main Street will be open throughout the festival.


The 29th Annual Main Street Days opens Friday, May 17 at 10:00 a.m. and admission is free until 5 p.m. Festival hours are Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18, 10 a.m. - 11:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 19, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. After 5 p.m. on Friday, adults are $7 and children 6 - 12 and seniors are $5. Weekend passes are $15. Souvenir weekend passes are $20. Free shuttles run continuously from designated parking lots.
