Chembur is one of Mumbai’s foremost and fastest developing residential areas. Chembur lies in the Mumbai Harbor zone and is dotted with several premium and mid-range projects. A double deck six lane flyover links the Dr. Hans Bhugra Junction on the Western Express Highway to the Amar Mahal Junction on the Eastern Express Highway.Three diversions of this flyover will soon connect to the LBS Marg, Tilak Nagar Terminus and Nehru Nagar. The Kurla-Kalina flyover over the LBS Marg is a part of the Santacruz-Chembur Link Road which is another major connectivity development in this stretch. Chembur is now regarded as a major gateway to South Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. Reputed educational institutions like the St. Gregorios High School, Sadhu High School, St. Joseph’s Convent and the Mahatma Education Society’s institutions are located here. There are several leading hospitals in this stretch in addition to recreational zones like the Acres Club and Gymkhana. Shopping malls like the K-Star Mall and City Mall are also located in close proximity to the area.Property prices have increased by approximately 6.98% in the area as per Q3 2015 while average property prices stand at around INR 17, 516 per sq. ft. in the area for the same period.
