About Borivali West, Mumbai

Borivali  is an affluent and peaceful suburb of Mumbai. Located at the north-western end of Mumbai,it has a large Gujarati population, followed by Maharashtrian, Catholic, and other demographics. Traditionally, the Hindu Koli community lived in Borivali in villages of Eksar. It has the highest number of public parks in Mumbai and almost all blocks of different neighbourhoods have a park. It has one of the highest green cover in Mumbai due to the Sanjay Gandhi National Park in the East, public parks in West and the distant Gorai Creek at the Gorai end. Situated in the northern part of Mumbai, Borivali West is a developed residential suburb that primarily caters to mostly the upper-middle class . The area is located along the Western Line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway and mainly boasts multi-storey apartments spread across various completed and under-construction projects. Moreover, there are several co-operative housing societies available here. Prominent residential projects in the locality are Satra Park, Ajmera Pristine, and Paradigm Ananda Residency etc.

Moreover, the under-construction metro Line 2 (Dahisar-Mandale) is expected to boost connectivity with the rest of the city and is scheduled to be completed by 2020. The Churchgate railway station lies around 33.4 kilometres away from the area and the SV Road is a major connectivity lifeline in the area as well. The Western Express Highway is another major connectivity lifeline in the area and links it to several business hubs in Mumbai. The area is known for its lovely greenery, gardens and good maintenance.

Some of the prominent schools in the neighbourhood are Don Bosco High School, Swami Vivekanand International School and St. Xavier's High School. Besides, major hospitals include Karuna Hospital, Apex Superspeciality Hospitals and Lotus Multispeciality Hospital. Also, popular shopping avenues here are Zoom Plaza Mall, Moksh Plaza Mall etc.  The Gorai Beach and Creek are also easily accessible from the area along with an amusement park. Property prices have increased by approximately 1.84% in the area as per Q3 2015 while average prices stand at around INR 19, 903 per sq. ft. here for the same period.  The area is known for its lovely greenery, gardens and good maintenance. BEST bus network is highly active in the area along with auto rickshaws and taxis. The proposed metro network and monorail connectivity is about to definitely transform the entire area over the next few years. Areas like Wadala, Sion, Vashi and Thane are well connected to Borivali West while the Borivali railway station is a major connectivity lifeline here.
