About Atal Setu Goa

A ₹546 Crore project, Atal Setu Goa was introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in August 2019 to reduce traffic congestion throughout the City. This bridge was designated to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, India’s former Prime Minister. The bridge has been completed, but it is in the maintenance stage, with the goal of robust cable wires and decreasing traffic congestion. Earlier it comprised asphalt and tar cables, now, these cables are being replaced by a fresh layer of bitumen material.

The Atal Setu Goa bridge interlinks two states of Goa; Porvorim and Panaji. It contains four lanes of NH 66 across the Mandovi River. It is also known as the 3rd largest bridge in India, with 5.1 kilometres. The magnificent and scenic four-lane bridge in Goa is 21 metres wide, 30-metre height and 150 kilometres long, asphalt and tar cables with 4 piers in the water.
